About Eddie

Eddie was born in the East end of London in 1949. He is a self-taught painter and has exhibited throughout England, Scotland, Wales and parts of Europe. His commissions cover a wide range of subjects which include landscapes, portraits, animal paintings and copies of old masters. His work has gone as far afield as Hong Kong, USA and Australia.

Eddie first started drawing and making models of topographical features from air photographs whilst serving in the Parachute Regiment. The inspiration to paint came first from colleagues in the Regiment and then later from artists such as Terence Cuneo, Sir Alfred Munnings, John Edward Millais, John Sargent, Joaquin Sorolla – the list goes on.

In October 2018 Eddie became a full member of the Institute of East Anglian Artists.

His biggest commission in 2018 was an 11 metre x 3 metre mural at the Methodist Church in Swaffham, which was completed in January 2019.

He lives in North Norfolk with his wife and family.
